Diploma of Remedial Massage Specialising in: Remedial, Swedish and Lymphatic Massages Treatments:
David first studied Swedish massage in 1991 and has been active as a masseur since that time. Completing his initial government-accredited Certificate III of Remedial Massage studies in late 1997, he now holds a Certificate IV of Massage and full Diploma of Remedial Massage. These nationally accredited qualifications and experience, which include comprehensive knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology, are recognised by over 50 Australian Health Funds offering rebates for Remedial and/or other massage. David also studied various beauty treatments with an accredited spa industry training college, to cater to those ladies who want that little bit extra relaxation and pampering. Offering a range of massage and associated therapies, David is one of Townsville’s leading Remedial massage practitioners. In 1998 he began working part time with other remedial therapists at the massage clinic at Townsville’s Muscle and Fitness Gym in Hyde Park. In mid 2000, he took over the operation of this clinic as sole practitioner and continued this till the end of 2005. Since then he has concentrated on his home-based massage clinic. Here he can offer a better service for clients in much more quiet, private, relaxing and modern surroundings in a building separate to his home in Mount Louisa, Townsville. In addition to various other massage modalities, David also studied Sports Massage, including a heavy emphasis on treatment and prevention of sports injuries. Many sportsmen and women, including elite athletes, national title-winner body builders and super-fit Defence members are among his Remedial massage clients from diverse backgrounds. David has been a Remedial massage instructor and offers private tutoring in his modern clinic facilities for individuals and small groups of up to four people who want to learn basic massage skills, refresh and polish their skills or update techniques in Remedial, Swedish or Lymphatic massage. He places a high priority on continuing his own professional education. As a member of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists (AAMT) he regularly attends various AAMT-accredited workshops, seminars and conferences, including the annual AAMT national conferences. Until September 2006, David was also the highly respected owner, publisher and editor of the monthly Northern Services Courier (Defence community newspaper) in Townsville. His passion for massage prompted him to sell the newspaper to concentrate full time on massage. David has been a journalist (and later Managing Editor) since 1968, a public relations consultant since 1982, and has written and published over 100 monthly comprehensive, informative and educational articles on various aspects of therapeutic massage since 1999. David’s practice has featured in the Townsville Bulletin’s “Weekend Magazine” and “Prime Time” supplements. David also was featured as the “Special Member” in the January 2006 edition of the national “Journal of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists Ltd.” Service clubs have invited David as guest speaker on massage and he has been interviewed on ABC Radio promoting genuine professional therapeutic massage and AAMT activities. ARTICLES Popping a pill or taking other medication may provide a quick fix for the symptoms of a problem. Medication may be all you need. But in hiding the pain, it might also be disguising the real cause of the problem, so it may reoccur or even become worse. We trust our massage articles will give you understanding of why natural medicine works. These articles were written by David Hall, a qualified and highly experienced massage therapist. Until September 2006, David was also the owner, editor and publisher of NSC (Northern Services Courier), a monthly Defence community newspaper based in Townsville, North Queensland, Australia. These articles – just some of over 90 on massage written by David – were published in the Northern Services Courier, as a result of which some may tend to have a Defence slant. |
